What is Scorch?

You and 30 lucky friends decide to kill each other.

At it's core, Scorch is a side scrolling adrenaline shooter featuring hyper-violent multiplayer battles.

Remember Quake? This game won't wait for you to think. Your instincts and fast reflexes will give you the upper hand. After many hours of play be prepared for normal life to seem slow.

We highly recommend investing in a case of your choice energy drink.

What is our goal?

Our goal is to make the fastest twitch based shooter ever created, and the ultimate LAN party game. Matches will be pure gameplay and no more than 15 minutes in length, so you can quickly jump in and have a highly satisfactory experience without wasting your time on game features that don't matter.

Will there be an open Alpha/Beta?

Yes.

What platforms is it on?

PC, Linux, Mac.

Consoles? You'll get absolutely destroyed without a mouse.

Our weapon of choice.

Everyone here including myself usually prefers simple, speed demon editors such as Notepad++ and gedit, as Woot Events was written, but we're willing to make an exception.

Re: Scorch - Ultraviolent Multiplayer Sidescroller

We were going solid for 4-5 weekends, then the project got put on hiatus during the PAX weekend. We plan to resume shortly. Expect gameplay updates soon.

A full and robust real-time multiplayer system (synced, under 50 MS delay) is a difficult and time consuming to implement, which is why we got it out of the way first and foremost.
